2021 Bentrock Vineyard Pinot Noir
2021 Bentrock Vineyard Pinot Noir
The Bentrock Vineyard ranges from 400 to 500 feet in elevation above the valley floor. The rolling hills are reminiscent of some of Burgundy’s most famous vineyards with many aspects and angles - not only for sunlight but geological complexities as well. These high elevations allow for a long and cooler ripening season. Clay, chert, dolomite, shale and alluvial based soils make up the majority of the Bentrock Vineyard, which sits atop the western edge and is more exposed to the ocean elements.
Vinous 96 Points
“The 2021 Pinot Noir Bentrock Vineyard is fabulous. This powerful, layered Pinot Marries energy, tension and depth. A touch of 15% whole cluster works well in adding savory intensity that is very much in keeping with the nervy style that is typical of the western side of the appellation. Crushed rock, white pepper, mint, rose petal and blood orange build into the salivating finish. Superb.” Vinous 96 points.
