2019 Sanford & Benedict Vineyard
2019 Sanford & Benedict Vineyard
Sanford & Benedict Vineyard Pinot Noir
The Sanford & Benedict Vineyard is renowned for both its historical significance and the unsurpassed quality of the fruit it produces. First planted in 1971, this sustainably farmed vineyard is home to the oldest Pinot Noir vines in Santa Barbara County. This vineyard soil is deep with calcium enriched clay loam, fractured shale and chert. This complex array of alluvial soils have accumulated over millions of years at the base of these foothills, an extension of the Santa Ynez Mountains which run west towards the Ocean.
Vinous 94 points.
“The 2019 Pinot Noir Sanford & Benedict is deep, fleshy and wonderfully nuanced. It shows a decidedly floral aromatic with plum, spice, rose petal and blood orange that all meld together into a rich, expansive Pinot that captures all the magic of this site. There is something very Old World about this 2019”. Vinous 94 Points. Antonio Galloni
